HOW TO - pimp up your skin...or use hot stamping foil! Since a few of you ask, how this is working and if there will be a tutorial I decided to do one - even if it is very simple and not that spectacular. You need: - fabric of your choice - the pattern you want to transfer to your fabric (prefabricated or handpainted) - hot stamping foil - thermo adhesive (special adhesive that reacts to heat) - brushe(s) - flat iron How to: 1. Use tailor’s chalk to transfer the pattern to your fabric. If you’re using a prefabricated pattern, just lay it down onto the fabric. 2. Use a brush to paint the parts you want to foil later with thin(!) layers of the adhesive. 3. Let the adhesive dry (needs about 20-30 minutes). 4. Take a sheet of foil and place it with the glossy side up onto the parts, that you covered with the adhesive and put a sheet of baking paper on top. 5. Now use your flat iron (on grade 1-2) and iron everything for about 5 seconds. 6. Let the foil cool down. 7. I went out of foam clay so I can't continue with Melandru until tomorrow, but for all the Guild Wars fans out there I have a small showcase of my Carapace Armor I wore last week for the DCP gala. It looks a bit different on my dummy doll because it's waaaay more taller than me... The whole costume is a mix out of fabric, fake leather, worbla and foam. Lyssa‘s hand/finger armor: It took a few hours to figure out the right measurements and after some frustrating moments I already started working on another easier design, but after I slept on it I tried it once more and it finally worked! Everything is movable for better comforts (the parts are not fixed atm, still thinking about the method) - pls swipe for a small video. I just finished my latest real life legendary from beloved Guild Wars 2 by @arenanet ❤ Frostfang! This is real life legendary number 8! So proud!!! Now i can run around with double axe legys and slay the Shatterer or Kralkatorrik that bit** This beautiful weapon consists out of foam and the wonderful Worbla's Black Art. Happy Easter weekend! This time of year is so beautiful. Here's a stunning picture by the amazing @mckellenfs of my Guild Wars 2 cosplay. I'm in awe... I'm a huge fan of the Guild Wars franchise since way back in 2006. The game is so nostalgic to me. This was the first armour set I made back in 2014! I made the staff the following year and repainted it all from scratch. The costume is old and reworked a lot but I decided to bring it back out to wear at #cosxpo hoping to get nice photographs.
