Mango is a king of fruits and my family’s stomachs! I’m so glad it has a lot of health benefits and rejuvenating nutrients to justify the amount we eat in one day!

Some researchers say that 225 grams of mango fruit contains 105 calories, and 25% of those are vitamin A, 76% vitamin C, 9% copper, 7% potassium and 9% healthy probiotic fibre. Not so bad, right?

LOW FODMAP DIET AND FRUIT

When following the elimination stage of the FODMAP diet there are a lot of fruit that need to be avoided, but there are still plenty you can eat, so don’t avoid fruit altogether!
⠀ ⠀
Fruit makes a great low calorie, high fibre (soluble/insoluble/resistant starch) and nutrient dense snack!
⠀
Above are some fruit options that are suitable on a low FODMAP diet, these are options I ❤:
✧ Blueberries 1 serve (20 berries)*
✧ Kiwi fruit 1 serve (2 small, peeled)
✧ Passionfruit 1 serve (2 fruits)
✧ Orange 1 serve (1 medium)
✧ Paw Paw 1 serve (1 cup, chopped)
✧ Strawberries 1 serve (10 medium)
✧ Raspberries 1 serve (30 berries/60g)*

Other low FODMAP fruit:
✧ Grapes all colours 1 serve (1 cup)
✧ Rockmelon 1 serve (3/4 cup)*
✧ Honeydew Melon 1 serve (1/2 cup)*
✧ Banana 1 serve (medium, unripe)
✧ Pineapple 1 serve (1 cup, chopped)*

While on the low FODMAP diet, it is recommended that you stick to one portion of fruit per serve and leave 2 to 3 hours between each serve.

Even though I am intolerant to ‘polyols’ and ‘fructose’ I have learnt MY Individual tolerance with high FODMAP fruits such as mangos, apples , lychees, pears , watermelon , peaches , cherries etc and can enjoy these occasionally in the right portion size for ME (this varies amongst individuals).

I remember when I first looked at all the fruit that were high FODMAP and thinking “I can’t eat anything” this is a usual first reaction! Just remember the low FODMAP diet is a tool that helps you identify what your triggers. It isn’t forever ❤️

Consult a specialised Dietitian prior to commencing the low FODMAP diet as it is complex and requires specialist supervision. For anyone that has asked, YES I am a Monash University certified FODMAP Dietitian . ⠀
