Inspired by the community on here and the people I’ve followed since being diagnosed with guttate psoriasis, I’ve taken the plunge to start documenting my own journey with psoriasis. • There’s so much I am still naive to having not started “proper” treatment, hopefully this will help me make sense of it all or at least help me to accept my new normal. • So with that said... hi, I’m Jenny.

This book changed my life and I have to tell others about it. Back in February, my little (big) family all got Strep. After my bout with it, I broke out from head to toe from a “rash.” After several dr appts and my own research, I found out that I have guttate psoriasis. It’s autoimmune and also genetic. I was devastated, but determined to deal with it, because after all, I didn’t have a choice. I found this book through Instagram (social media is a wonderful gift) and have followed her suggestions through a well written plan. And I’m happy to say, my skin has cleared up 80% from what it was. And not a single dose of medicine. I still have a ways to go, but with the right diet, I will get there. The phrase “you are what you eat” is the truest thing I have ever heard. With 4 months of the paleo life style, I have also lost 11.2 pounds, and my face is the clearest it has ever been, unintentional. Car Crochet Confessions: . Okay y’all. This is really hard. But here’s my truth: I’ve been too ashamed and afraid to show my hands at work. I wanted my feed to show the beauty in my life. Not the bad. . For the past six months I’ve been battling a #psoriasis outbreak. I’ve always had a touch, but this last November I got sick, that caused a #guttatepsoriasis outbreak all over my body. Most of it has cleared up. But not all. . I was snapping a photo for the day, agonizing over making sure no red spots showed as I held my hand carved hook making my hand made shawl. And it got to me. My hands... as ugly as I feel they are, as much as they hurt to move... they make beautiful things. They hold my children close, they hold my husbands hands. They are nothing to be ashamed of. . My body isn't perfect. I mean is there actually such a thing ‍♀️. But I was starting to get used to the stretch marks, the loose skin and the wobbly bits. I had been working hard and got myself to a point where I was happy, maybe not in love, but happy. But then my body changed again. About a month ago I had tonsillitis, which if cased by one specific type of bacteria can lead to something called guttate psoriasis... Who even knew ‍♀️. So the last few weeks my body has been covered in these tiny patches. And you know what. It's knocked my confidence. I've been more aware of what I'm wearing and am dreading the sun coming out as they cover my arms and legs I've found it really hard. It's hard to be body positive when the thing you are conscious of isn't something you can control. I wasn't sure whether to post this. I don't have an uplifting message or a positive spin. But maybe it will help to spread some light that body image isn't all about our lumps and bumps, our stretch marks and cellulite. Our bodies are so much more than this. Sometimes our skin is dry and sometimes it's patchy ‍♀️. Bu duyguyla hayatım boyunca ama özellikle son bir senedir defalarca sınandım. Herkesin farklı, ağır sınavları var, oluyor, olacak. Ama biz bitti demeden bitmez artık çok iyi biliyorum. Önce bu habisin, bazı doktorların! aksine kontrol altına alınabileceğine inandım ki 3 ayda bir takım biyolojik ajanlarla ve harika bir doktorla kontrol altına aldık. Arada atakları engelleyemedik ama tamamen ele geçirmesine izin vermedik. Sonra bunun sadece stresten kaynaklanan tedavi edilemez bir hastalık olamayacağına ve bu aşıları hayatımın sonuna kadar kullanmak zorunda olmadığıma inandım. Geçen ay tam da dediğim gibi, bunun #otoümmin bir hastalık ve asıl sorunun ince bağırsağımda olduğunu, sadece çok stresle bunu kendi kendime yapmadığımı öğrendim. CLC MEMBER FEATURE: Hi I’m Aimee Grace, I’m 32, a fashion retail manager and artist in my spare time. I've always suffered with plaque psoriasis but earlier this year I woke one morning to find my entire face and body covered in itchy red spots. My GP initially diagnosed me with chicken pox but after 10 days and no sign of it clearing up, I got a second opinion and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and informed the spots were in fact plaque and guttate psoriasis! • My Doctor informed me that my immune system was extremely weak and that stress and a nasty virus were the cause of my break out. Not only am I covered in sore, itchy inflamed skin, but I suffer chronic fatigue, hair loss and weight loss due to a very limited diet. At the beginning I found it hard to accept my new look, crying myself to sleep for weeks. I had to learn to deal with social media trolls and even people in the street pointing, whispering even laughing with a disgusted look on their face. I also received a few death threats because apparently I’m “offensive to look at”. I have since found peace and embraced how I look and am proud of my spots. Surprisingly social media has helped with this. I receive so much love and positivity from my followers, they keep me humble and give me strength. • My focus now is to share my story with the world in the hope of supporting and inspiring others to do the same. I receive messages daily from people all over the world who are ashamed of how they look or are not accepted in their communities. I try to give them as much support as I can, and remind them they are not alone. We have a strong community of psoriasis and autoimmune warriors across instagram and other social media networks and my focus is to help build on our community and make us even stronger! #chronicloveclub
