However much I might strive for perfection and uniformity, it is rarely achieved. There will almost certainly be a tiny rogue triangle missed during carving or a speckly spot where I haven't applied enough pressure whilst printing (I don't use a press, just a spoon and some elbow grease ). If I'm adding watercolour, no two prints will have the same tones or textures. Lifting the paper off the inked block to reveal a new print is one of the most exciting parts of the printing process. . It’s the first time you get to see how well your color choices work or don’t work together. If you don’t like them, you can change them by mixing more colors. You also get to see if you need to do any more carving before continuing on with printing your edition. . For my first gingery cat print, I chose a blue green color for the Mandala background. I've printed the first few copies of my NEW lino print, 'a trio of narwhals' on 300gms @hahnemuehle_global acid free mould made print making board. Very happy with the result, I might have to frame one of these myself! (I love love love these unicorns of the sea!).
