I’ve learned something through my years of teaching and being a stay at home mom. I’ve found that in order for my children to reach their full potential in learning, creating and imagining, I need to set up a very inviting, calm, cozy, yet stimulating learning environment in our home. My children’s learning space is my favorite spot in my home and I am always changing it ever so slightly to cater to their learning needs. When I change the environment up, it keeps them engaged and excited to learn and explore. Pictured is our home space!✨ . It’s easier than it may sounds to set up the perfect learning space. Here are a few tips I like to follow: . Declutter, donate unused/old toys Display a few pieces of artwork or photos of your child Make a calm playlist Snip a few fresh flowers from outside and add it to your space Only set out toys that are interesting to your child right now. Put the rest away in the closet and rotate them out as they get bored. Get organized. Use baskets/labels. Set out only toys that interest your child currently. Encourage/set aside a clean up time when finished playing Diffuse calming oils such as lavender Always set out new, relevant books to encourage reading. You can even add a cozy space with pillows and stuffed animals to read. Include in your rotation open-ended toys like blocks, play dough and art supplies to encourage imaginative play Make sure everything is low enough that children can reach it and put it back when they are finished . .
