The wild landscape of Patagonia. ✨ Our first day in El Chalten we spent over four hours at the condor lookout watching condors. The winds that evening were crazy. One moment the wind was strong enough to knock you off your feet, and another moment... no wind at all. During this moment we experienced one of those crazy wind gusts. I slowly worked up the courage to stand up, even though I felt like I might be blown away. The grit being kicked up from the ground was pelting my face, but the poncho kept my body safe. The wind helps make my poncho look cooler though . If you were wondering how my hat didn’t get blown away: I makshifted some kitchen twine into a thicker braided string and hand sewed both of them onto my hat. I originally ordered some hat strings off of amazon but the package never arrived so I had to make do with what was in my apartment the day before the trip. I really contemplated wether to bring my hat or not... in fear I might lose it to the winds. I’m glad I brought it though, it really helped keep the sun out of my face during our really dry sunny days. All in all, if you really want to see some epic views, Andean condors and share a sunrise or sunset with strangers who are super friendly, going to the condor lookout in El Chalten is a great option! . . .
