Restoration. That’s something that has always been on our hearts. It all started when God restored our relationship to Him and our marriage 8 years ago. Then we fell in love with historic restoration and we bought our fixer upper 1800s farmstead (Bryarton Farm) 4 years ago. . Slowly we have become passionate restorationists. That’s one of the reasons we are adopting. We feel called to help an orphan through her own restoration process, by sharing the healing power of Jesus with her, and making her our very own beloved daughter. After all, that’s exactly what God did for us! . Today we took a new route home from church and stumbled upon this little forgotten country church/schoolhouse. My heart jumped in my chest as I yelled for my husband to stop the car! Oh how I long to restore this piece of America’s heritage too. As I walked through its doors I could imagine the weddings, the prayers, the school lessons, and all the lives that these stone walls have seen. I wish we could save her... .
