This precious palace called The Hofburg is the official residency and workplace of the President of Austria. Not the worst place to be living and working!
Like everything in Vienna, the whole square is very photogenic, especially with the horse and carriages passing by every minute. I know that those are nothing more than a tourist attraction, but still they blend in sooo well with the marvelous historic ambience of Vienna! I can totally imagine the famous princess Sissi arriving here in her carriage, just on her way to a romantic ball or big festive dinner. Fun fact: she got married to Franz Josef I here in The Hofburg. Anyway, I think that being able to daydream so easily about how things were a few centuries ago is what makes Vienna so unique and spectacular.

The truly impressive Michaelertor of the Hofburg Palace. The domed Michaelertor was originally designed by Josef Emanuel Fischer von Erlach in the 1720s, but it wasn’t until 1888 that construction really started. The Austrian Architect Ferdinand Kirschner followed von Erlach’s designs and completed the wing in 1893. Good night, Vienna! ✨ by @christian_kremser #viennanow
