Here’s that Algarve summary despite the 6%! 1. Rent a car. We used Gold Car and they were cheap and great for us. If you want full piece of mind, maybe opt for one of the more reputable companies! We paid - £69 including tolls for 9 days. 2. 1st stop - Loulé. The ‘Loulé Jardim Hotel’ was dreamy. The plants were a plenty, the rooms were spot on, amazing breakfast and a rooftop pool! We paid - £53 per night. 3. 2nd stop - Lagos. We stayed in the ‘Dona Ana Garden’ for its perfect location next to the beach. The pool was heated, the room was grand and we walked the short distance into Lagos for dinner! We paid - £41 pounds per night. 4. 3rd stop - Aljezur. This was the one you all went crazy for, ‘Utopia Guest House’. It was a last minute booking and we couldn’t believe this paradise on arrival! The place was heavenly, perfectly furnished, a great breakfast and a breathtaking pool. Short drive to Arrifana for a beautiful beach and lovely restaurants. We paid - £43 per night. 5. 4th stop - Morgado Golf Club and Resort. A bit of luxury for the night! We got a free upgrade and champagne thanks to the reception team so this place ticked all the boxes. Top class pool area and the best breakfast we had all trip. We paid- £45 per night. 6. 5th stop - Caldas de Monchique. We stayed in ‘Albergaria do Lageado’ which exceeded all expectations. Tasteful Portuguese decor, stunning gardens, pool area and a hearty breakfast. Gorgeous little village with beautiful scenery of the hills and countryside. We paid - £38 per night. 7. 6th stop - Burgau, near Praia da Luz. We stayed in an @airbnb here which I’m not going to discuss. It was beautiful but we didn’t have the best experience so I don’t feel like I should be recommending. 8. 7th stop - Estoi, inland from Faro in the countryside. We stayed in ‘Monte Da Ribeira’ which was set into the hills and a spectacular location. Our apartment was great, the infinity pool was idyllic and breakfast was served in a little basket, full of locally made treats. We paid - £68 per night. All in all, incredible trip, amazing country, fairly priced accommodation and most importantly - perfect weather! 10/10 would recommend the Algarve to a friend.

This is what a week in the sun with no worries, no pressures and no to-do lists looks like. Pure bliss. You will be pleased to hear that it’s our very last day so you’ll no longer be subjected to the endless holiday snaps and vids (although, would you not allow me a few throwbacks?). It’s been truly amazing to explore the Algarve with @danny_morton_. I already can’t wait for future trips knowing I get to take them with you.
