There’s a lot of pressure for “authenticity” on social media: being your “true” self and “just being you!” Does anyone else find this hard and strange? I guess I sometimes notice that I don’t even think to post some of my most meaningful relationships, activities and interactions…

Side note: I realize the irony of this post. Just wanted to say “hi!” again and also give you permission to take a break when you need to get away from social media insanity and live your freakin life.

For those curious (and because I had such a fun and interesting weekend!): I spent last weekend in Wayne Nebraska training as a volunteer staffer for a @launch_leaders workshop. I am blown away by the curriculum they’ve created to help middle and high school kids learn leadership (and life) skills: emotional intelligence, non-verbal communication, working as a team, etc. As staff, we had our own development, and learned about inclusion, cultural appropriation vs appreciation, and practiced our facilitation skills so we’re ready for the kids in a couple weeks at workshop.

If you have middle/high school aged kids you think would be interested, this was one of the most formative workshops I did in my high school years, which is why I want to give back by being on staff! If you have questions, please ask. If I had kids this age I would absolutely encourage them to go if they’re interested. Kids leave as different, more mature people (in the best way possible)!
