Nice little push/pull combo. Saw @jtm_fit doing the push-up to tricep extension so I had to put some soy sauce on it! The gorilla Rows are killer and one day I’ll get as nice as @rynosaurusflex with the L-sit to handstands. .

When people, like myself, ‘bodybuild’, they tend to begin every session with a flat barbell press. Is there anything wrong with that? Well no, absolutely not! The flat bench develops the pecs and in my opinion is a basic movement that everybody should learn if they intend to build muscle tissue in the gym. So if you begin your sessions with it, I’m not telling you it’s wrong, far from it!

What I am saying is to mix it up, experiment with different movements, techniques, rep ranges etc, rather than doing the EXACT same thing every single time you head into the gym. Starting with the flat bench makes sense as it’s a lift that most love to see progression in, as you have the most energy at the start of the session, of course that makes sense to do! But programme in some changes, a simple one being barbell ➡️ dumbbell, or flat ➡️ incline!

Bodybuilders often complain about their lacking upper chest after years of training, arguably this is because of a lot of focus on flat bench and a neglect of incline presses, I came across this video on my phone from the other day and I was inspired to make this post, so motivational and fun right?
