I've had my fair share of Pinterest fails. Not gonna lie. I love a good DIY but I'm just so not skilled at most things art and crafty. I can’t draw to save my life - in fact even my stick people could do with some work
So when I really wanted to make some beautiful story stones but knew anything I painted would end up looking like a crime scene, I opted for the easy way out.
Enter $2 packets of stickers from the dollar shop, some white glass pebbles from @bunnings and some Mod Podge from @cleverpatch Just stick the stickers down onto the stones and add a few layers of Mod Podge and you’re done!
Now I'm not pretending to be @marthastewart over here...but they totally worked and they look soooooo good and sooooo profesh I made this set last year and they’re still holding up!
You can use stickers for an easy DIY story stone, or you could print off some images on your printer. My mum @myteachingcupboard has handpainted her set and @our_montessori_journey has had success with permanent markers too! Lots of options depending on your creative ability
Are you an art and crafts PRO.FESH or are you on the hot mess train like myself?
Shelf reset with some beautiful books as we gently glide back into a homeschool rhythm. Discovering together, learning together, growing together. I adore it. Exploring and wondering alongside my girls is incredibly fulfilling and as we create a new normal together right now I am so grateful for the opportunity to go slow and tread lightly. And books? Well they’re perfect for connection and exploration.
Bravery is defined as having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, difficulty, pain or grief.
I don’t feel brave but I’m slowly preparing to embrace courage. It’s not that I’m not aware that my grief will be ongoing - I live it daily and I know I am forever changed because of it. You see love and grief are two sides of the same precious coin. I will always love Micah and I will always grieve the loss of him, therefore one cannot exist without the other.
I do have hope but I also have a heartache so deep I can physically feel it pulse through me. That grief can (and does) knock me sideways and leave me on my knees. But the hope - that’s what I cling to. And it’s that hope, the seeds of joy that are attempting to sprout, that enables me to get off my knees each time and put one shaky foot in front of the other. Maybe that’s what courage will look like for me in the weeks and months to come. Two shaky feet, sometimes walking, sometimes pausing, sometimes curled under two crumbled legs.
For now, I am beginning by pursuing joy in the things I have always found joy in. This amazing book has been my late night companion when sleep has evaded me. My beacon of hope when I needed a short distraction from grief. My source of inspiration to look ahead to joy and wonder again and my encouragement to be brave in life and in learning.
We can all be brave learners. We can all live courageously. This doesn’t mean the absence of grief. For me, this means loving fiercely, pursuing joy, expressing gratitude and embracing grief. It means taking the time I need to nurture myself and my family through the darkest valley we’ve ever walked. But it also means holding on to a hope and a future. Because a single thread of hope is still a powerful thing.✨ (Side note - shipping and orders will recommence next week when the store reopens, we value your ongoing patience and understanding as we resume)
Freaky little face stones
My mum @myteachingcupboard made these freaky little face stones for Lilly for her second birthday and they still give me the giggles when we bring them out for playtime! They’re amazing for exploring body parts and emotions and also for extending oral language and vocabulary!
She printed off the pictures and used Mod Podge to seal them onto the stones. You can print off just about any image or even use stickers to make your own stones!
So what do you think? Do these stones make you feel excited or a little bit terrified?
“The mother’s heart is the child’s schoolroom.” -Henry Ward Beecher ••• Happy (home) Teacher Appreciation Week to my fellow homeschooling mamas deep in the trenches, fighting that good fight whilst breaking up the children’s fights and drinking copious cups of coffee. My new Easter pack is here!
I loooove any excuse for some themed learning, and what better time than Easter? After all, who doesn’t love bunnies, chicks and all things chocolate?!
One of the activities I’ve included in the new packet is this letter posting activity! Lilly and I have been doing lots of work around letter knowledge so I made this one with her in mind.
She had to pluck a carrot from the garden, say it’s name and then feed it to the hungry bunny. And of course Elliot was keen to join in as well - he’s been picking up a few letter names here and there alongside Lilly
If you’d like to grab this printable for your little learners (or check out all of the other activities included in the packet!) just head on over to the link in my bio!

It's HERE!!!!!!! I am so beyond excited about this. Honestly you guys, I am an emotional wreck about this. If I die tomorrow... this is a legacy I leave behind and it is so so worthy. I have so many things I want to do in my life, so many things I am passionate about but I don't see how anything can match up with a ministry to kids.⠀
⠀
My heart with this Bible curriculum is to raise up a generation of kids who know who God is and have a personal, deep relationship with Him. A generation who knows their identity is not based on their perception or man's perception, but on what God says about them. A generation that listens not to the ever-shifting voice of their culture but to the Holy Spirit's leading. Kids that bear fruit in their lives, that have a faith that is more than words or motions or religion.⠀
⠀
Let it be used by Him for His glory and purposes. Let the seeds that are planted go deep and it help build a foundation that cannot be shaken.⠀
⠀
A morning basket in a book: hymn studies, poetry, art, picture studies, stories and more! ⠀

Where? Amazon, Masterbooks.com, Christian Book, CHER and Learning House in Canada... you know. All the places ;) Link is in my bio to check it out on Masterbooks and see the preview (the link under the listing). ⠀
