It’s a sunny ☀️ sunny day today! Just like this bumblebee mug!!! The next shop update is officially scheduled for ✨May 15 @ 6pm EST, a week from today.✨There will be large botanical mugs, a few tumblers, insect mugs, some vases, and the new Creature Cups for kids. A newsletter with a price list will be sent out Monday to those of you who have subscribed to the website. Then I’ll be taking a bit of a break to get the garden planted before traveling with the family to Istanbul!
❉ wolf cry, announcement!
+
+
About a month ago, I camped out overnight at the @wolfconservationcenter with my field mic to record the howls of the 48 wolves living there. The sound of their voices in unison always gives me chills, and it is an honor to announce that they will be featured on my upcoming album, Wolf Cry. I am set to fly westward at the end of July to spend the first two weeks of August recording at @bardrockstudio in Poulsbo, Washington.
+
For about 7 years, I've been preparing and saving up for this opportunity. I now witness how all the threads are weaving together to bring this project into reality. Part of it actually started with the wolves, who I got to meet in 2014 after serendipitously running into Vanessa @sacredwarrior7 at @flowerpower_nyc. She was seeking to hire someone to cook for an herbalism retreat at the Wolf Conservation Center, and I happened to be managing a community garden overflowing with more veggies than we could eat.
+
That garden supported me to meet the wolves and to start my herbalism path by learning there with Vanessa and Matthew Wood @matthewwoodherbs. In retrospect, I laugh because at the time of the retreat, I had no idea about Matthew's powerful work in plant medicine, but I remembered loving all the stories he shared about the herbs we met, about animal spirit medicine, and even about the healing abilities of gnomes. After the retreat, I went on to read Matthew's books which inspired me even more- especially in regards to the energetic healing plants offer- setting me off on this life long path of herbalism.
+
My plant practice is deeply interwoven with my songwriting; some songs on this album even come directly from plant spirits. These practices support one another. With that said, any way you choose to support me as a medium of the plants, either by purchasing from my Apothecary shop or booking a 1:1 session with me, helps me to make this artistic dream come to fruition. If you feel called to donate directly to the album project, message me and I'll send you my Paypal or Venmo.

Thank you for listening- I'm off now to practice my howl! I honor the wolves for teaching me how to really get it down✨

I just realized that I didn’t show off this Foxglove & Hummingbird mug yet! It was a new design from the last update (it has been sold already). I’m hoping this break from making for the next few weeks will inspire some new creative ideas because it’s very important as an artist to keep exploring, expressing, and experimenting! All this work I’m putting into the garden will also spark some inspiration, seeing all the flowers blooming and insects buzzing.
