This past weekend we had the absolute honor of documenting Alyssa & Jimmy's wedding.⠀⠀
This first photographer was the moment he turned around to see her for the first time on their wedding day. ⠀⠀
Their love story is one of the most beautiful and inspiration relationships we have ever witnessed.⠀⠀
Alyssa, due to a doctor's negligence at birth and the use of forceps, left her with a spinal cord injury she would have for life. Jimmy, a MARATHON runner, met and fell in love with this amazing woman. ⠀⠀
Alyssa has defied every odd ever put against her, and is truly a remarkable and inspirational human being. Their RELATIONSHIP has defied the odds, is beautiful, and amazing, and something we will be forever grateful to have documented.⠀⠀
Please go follow her and see all the amazing things they are up to : @wheellifeinthewheelworld⠀⠀

Things I have learned in the last 11 years : - how to not get burned out and still love what I do
- how to give clients an amazing experience and images they love
- how to stop paying myself minimum wage
- how to not spend every hour at my computer
- how to feel successful and enough instead of comparing myself
- how to potty train three kids (working on#3 currently)
I actually don’t have everything figured out, so don’t look for perfection here. However if I waited for permission (and don’t worry I actually have) it would never come. So instead I’m bringing you up to speed on where I’ve been - those successes, failures and lots of in betweens as I figured out being a photographer. Chances are, if you are reading this, you have been a part of my story and I want to say thanks for the ways you have shown up for me.
In two months I get to pour in to a small group of people who want to improve their work, shoot something in the mountains and connect with an amazing group of creatives. Visit the link in my profile and watch my live tomorrow morning to learn more about the workshop!
WERE NOT CRYING, YOU’RE CRYING because we’re actually sobbing going through these photos and reliving the raw emotions of such a meaning day - we’ve never experienced such an emotion filled ceremony, with endless tears and insurmountable amounts of love and respect shared; watching Alex see Anna walk down the aisle was a moment in our career we will never forget and was one of those moments that truly put into perspective why we really do this job, Instagram trends and bullshit aside ✨
Elena was so excited when we found this gem of a spot because she got to hike (a very very little) on her wedding day! Who are my adventurous brides around here⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

— Do you have a photo session coming up that you are stressing about cause you don’t know what to wear? Yeah, I think we’ve all been there. It can be pretty hard to plan out what to wear when you have nothing to go off of + have never had your photo taken before. So I thought I’d share a 5 simple tips to help you get started…
✘
1. Options are always a good idea. The more options you bring the more outfits you can shoot in! It helps break up your session + gives you more images that don’t look all the same.
2. Neutral colors look best in most settings (+ with my style of shooting). No super bright crazy colors please!
3. Don’t mix patterns. Like ever. It will just look to busy + distract from your lovely faces.
4. Be comfortable + wear something that you feel yourself in! When you are relaxed + confident your photos will show it.
5. Bring your fur baby. Plz (this isn’t really an outfit tip, just a preference on my end haha)
✘
I hope this helped + now you feel like you’re all set to get your photos taken!
