Sometimes I spend a lot of time dreaming. Of things that could be, of those that should be, of some that have gone by.
I dream of dreams that have come true, and of those that will. Of people I’ve met, places I’ve been, of places I’m yet to see. Of stories I’ve heard and stories I’ve seen. Of stories I’ve lived and those that I will.
Some dreams stay alive, unchanged, constant through everything, an anchor. Keeping you on your path, reminding you of who you are. Some change, because you change. You grow. Maybe the same dreams grow with you.
They always work, though, in their own way, to take you to exactly where you want to be. Where you should be. Guiding you to someplace happy, someplace safe. Fuelling you to keep going till you reach it. They’re what keep you connected to where you started, where you are, and where you will be. An unseen force tying your life together, holding you together.
.
That’s why, even in those moments when it feels like you’re in a limbo, you find little moments of those dreams scattered around you.
A dew drop clinging to the edge of a leaf
The smell of a new book
The tinkle of a message from your best friend ♥️
A magical sunset Like this one.
.
It might not be everything I’ve ever dreamed of all at once. Pieces of it, yes. Which can only mean one thing. I’m getting closer
.
What have you been dreaming of lately?

Ever been inspired by a movie or a TV show to visit a destination?
.
I saw this place in a movie, and since then, I’ve wanted to be here. The pristine white of the landscape I saw on screen stunned and delighted me. I didn’t believe it could be real; I mean, HOW can something THIS gorgeous exist? When I saw @katrinakaif looking SO damn beautiful in a flowy black gown, gliding across the screen, I wondered how she wasn’t freezing to her death, but I got my answer when I came back home and googled ‘Tu Jaane Na shoot location’. Since then, I wanted to wear my own flowy black gown and let my hair fly free in the wind, right here at the travertines in Pamukkale.
.
This is a MUST visit, and I know there are a lot of people who feel this way. What else can explain the hordes of crowds that throng here? I don’t even blame them. It’s in very few places and times that you can find something that’s unique and protected and so unbelievably breathtaking. ‘Pamukkale’ translates to ‘Cotton Castle’. Quite literal, because the natural site sure looks like one. Mineral-rich waters have collected in the naturally-formed limestone pools, that from a distance look like they froze while slowly dripping down along a mountainside. Stalactites, basically. The thermal pools are said to be rich in calcium and minerals, making the clay a great mask for your skin There’s a path marked for tourists, and you can walk down alongside it, taking a dip into one of the infinity pools, or simply sitting and admiring the brilliant white landscape.
.
Yes, the crowds. Some parts of the terraces have been cordoned off, because they’ve faced enough erosion (right enough), so EVERYONE takes the path marked out for them. How does one avoid them?
A lot of people travel to Pamukkale as a day trip from Izmir or Kusadasi. These tours usually arrive around 10 AM and hang around till 3 PM. That’s when you’ll find the numbers overwhelming. My advantage? I stayed in Pamukkale. I was at the travertine terraces by 7 PM, just before sunset, when there were people, but only so many that no one impeded someone else’s view. For me, it was worth it. Bucket list ✔️
