The Overalls were a brand new item for P&S that I was nervous about, I’d spent probably a year designing, sampling, testing and altering them to get the perfect pair - perfect for me. I tried to make them as universal as possible for sizing. Well, the response has been astounding! Here’s some emails/feedback I’ve received:
OVERALLS: “My 1st order and love love love. I'll be living in these and saving up for more P&S.” “These are amazing!!! My spring/summer uniform” “I just got my overalls in the mail and they are seriously perfect! I want them in every color now! Thank you for making such perfect clothes.” “Just received my new @pyneandsmithclothiers linen overalls. I love them! For once no camel toe, which is what every other one piece I’ve tried does. Hurray! “ “Absolutely love these!” “Just have to say….LLLLLOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEEE these overalls!!!!!” “The overalls fit perfectly! I might move the buttons a bit, but that’s no big deal.” ✨
As awareness is spreading about why synthetic fabrics are harmful to our planet, let’s talk about the benefits of Linen Linen is a natural fiber fabric, made from the stalks of the flax plant, with a beautiful blue flower when in bloom. It’s hardy plant that grows well in damp conditions, it also grows well in poor soils (Northern Europe is where most of the flax crops are grown) interestingly, the flax plant doesn’t deplete the soil it’s grown in, it actually adds nutrients back into the soil. Flax plants are harvested and prepared for weaving by going through a laborious process of drying, threshing and retting. This time consuming process is what makes linen a more costly material compared to other fabrics. When the finished material is ready to be spun into yarn, it resembles bunches of long, blond hair, hence the term “flaxen” for light haired folk. The production of linen uses five to twenty times less water and energy than the production of cotton or synthetic fabrics, making it a much more environmentally friendly fabric. Linen is biodegradable, so if you buried it in some soil, it would break down in a few months.
