Can you believe that this band played dosed for a sick fan? This song was really hard to be played live because of the many layers of the guitar made it difficult
They played it for Maggie (the girl that had cancer) because Josh promised her they would!
They also played it with Zach Irons the son of Jack Irons who was the 1st drummer of rhcp isn’t that amazing
The story: "At the end of last month, the Red Hot Chili Peppers impressed all his fans around the world, 15 years after the release of the album By The Way , the song "Dosed" was played full live for the first time. However, the real reason for the music being played live was explained by Steven Schmidt, the father of Maggie Diane Schmidt.
Maggie was a big fan of the Chili Peppers and the last year was in a battle against a rare and aggressive cancer. In February, the fan of 16 years was invited to watch the show the band at Madison Square Garden in New York, there was greeted backstage by all members and all the staff that made you feel welcome and special - as stated by his mother on Instagram.
On that occasion the little admirer told Josh Klinghoffer who liked "Dosed" and her favorite album was By The Way , the guitarist promised her that they would play the song. The promise was fulfilled during the shows of Edmonton and Calgary on 28 and 29 May respectively, for the Canadian portion of the tour The Getaway - with the participation of Zach Irons in support of guitar.
