When given the opportunity! I talked about this in my last post but I want to revisit it here. Sometimes it’s hard to “turn off” especially when we have expectations and goals. But usually reaching our goals is a slow game, a journey, a marathon, and rest is very much a part of getting to the finish line. So give yourself permission to flip the “off” switch every once in a while. .

I work with clients that feel “stuck” and we often talk about morning routines. If you begin the day with hesitation and dread, you may begin to entrain “dread” into your daily habits. Begin the day with a willing step forward (or at least out of the covers) and you’ll begin to build on that momentum and mindset. Eventually you may find you’re craving something more, like sitting up and putting on your running shoes ♀️
In other words, think small! Take small steps with the right attitude to get to the big things you’re dreading! .

Could you stop scrolling ? Now use the index finger of that same hand and place it under your nose and exhale, you’ll notice that the exhalation from one of your nostrils is more than the other ? (I’m right , I’m right . I know I’m right )
85% of us breathe from one nostril at a given time and what’s even more amusing is that our predominant nostril is not constant and changes every few hours . When the flow is greater in the left nostril , your mental energy is dominant and mental activities like thinking, visualising ,planning , creating, ideating , and intuition are manoeuvred and if your right nostril is activated it supposes that your vital/physical energy is activated for more bodily tasks such as exercise,digestion , heart rate ,etc .
The next time you’re feeling a mental block during a creative process or drained during a physical task check which nostril is activated and immediately fix yourself with easy alternate nostril breathing !
It’s that simple !

I get off a client call only to jump on a WebEx conference to discuss data with my dissertation chair and field students emails at the same time. I edit photos while reviewing lectures I need to upload and post to Instagram while taking Zola for a walk. I think yoga is one of the only times I get to focus on just one thing at a time. I have to believe that’s why it’s been so important to me. .
What about you? Is yoga a way to shed your many hats as well?
I give myself permission to change my mind, change the scenery, and do something different.

I’m a creature of habit, for sure, but sometimes, ya got to mix it up! I had plans on working this morning while @captain.nate.cook took photos at @mad_atlanta but just couldn’t do it! Off to the Farmers market instead!! .
