Caffeine or no caffeine?
The week before a race I don’t have any caffeine, no coffee or Redbull all week. I have always done this, as I feel caffeine massively impacts my sleep and I use this time for my body to have a little reset ♀️ Then on race day I go back to using caffeine because I need it to help me at 8:30 in the morning . As a junior I remember being on the podium at European champs, nearly passing out because I had so many espressos and caffeine gels before the race, I promised my mum I would never have that much caffeine ever again Now I’m much more specific, I drink 1 1/2 Red bulls during my preparation and warmup which provides me with about 120mg of caffeine, for me this feels like the perfect amount!
