Because the temperatures were too high anyway I decided to do a bit of research on new features for the Instagram companion app ‍⁣ ⁣ This time I’m also taking a different approach: Right now I don’t have a real monetisation plan for the app, it’s simply free ‍♂️⁣ ⁣ I’m aware that there are ways to make money from it, but right now I just wanted to create a simple tool that people enjoy using. And those (happy) users will give me ideas and feedback on what to improve ⁣ ⁣ Once I’m confident with the basic features I might add an in-app purchase for advanced functionality, but right now I simply enjoy the idea that people use something I have created ⁣ ⁣ That’s actually a great reward to start with, isn’t it?⁣ ⁣ Enjoy your Saturday ⁣ ⁣ #ionic #devdactic #angular #webdevelopment #code #coder #developer #webdeveloper #ionicacademy #programming #webdev #codetosuccess #coding #softwaredeveloper #devlife #codinglife #programmers #programmer #buildtheweb #programmerrepublic #indiehacker #solopreneur #thedevlife #fullstack #entrepreneurlife #passiveincome #appdeveloper #mobiledeveloper #worldcode #buildupdevs

Have you ever accepted project that you didn’t know how to do at all but still decided to take a chance? What was the end result, have you delivered what was required? Leave your answer in the comments below and be sure to read Martin’s experience. Credit: @martin_lasek Original post: I'm currently working on a client project that is really something else ✨ ••• It basically requires me to re-build the iMessage App so you can create conversation stories that are funny or thrilling or super entertaining ••• For each message you create you can decide if it‘s the other one who wrote you (gray bubble) or if it was you (blue bubble) ••• You can the export it as a video and it will include all animations like typing, bubble appears, keyboard character tapping - for the keyboard tapping I have to re-create the keyboard myself and code the tapping programmatically ••• When I read the requirements I had no clue whatsoever how to do anything of it. I applied to the project anyway and secured it ••• I then sat down and broke down the requirements and started to learn how to implement one thing after another. Now I know how to do all of it. Because I said yes first - and learned how to solve it afterwards ••• #ionic #devdactic #angular #webdevelopment #code #coder #developer #webdeveloper #ionicacademy #programming #webdev #codetosuccess #coding #softwaredeveloper #devlife #codinglife #programmers #programmer #buildtheweb #programmerrepublic #buildupdevs #indiehacker #solopreneur #thedevlife #fullstack #entrepreneurlife #passiveincome #appdeveloper #mobiledeveloper #worldcode

What’s your favorite thing about Java? Leave your answer in the comments below and let’s see how many Java developer do we have in our community. Credit: @wilsoncodes Original post: SPOTLIGHT ON INTELLIJ . SPEED ‍♀️ The JetBrains team steamroll on and continue to make improvements to the best editor for Java (IMO) It makes life so much easier once you get used to all the shortcuts ⌨︎ Extracting methods/variables ((cmd + opt + v/m) and even creating Java POJOs (opt + space to create constructors/getters/toString) can be done in a whizz. Startup time is significantly faster than Eclipse . DEBUG MODE Eclipse was a nightmare when debugging but IntelliJ allows you to easily step over, step in, check what threads are running etc Again, all a lot quicker than Eclipse allowed you to (sorry not sorry that I’m bashing Eclipse ) . VERSION CONTROL I love IntelliJ’s side by side diff which gives you a final chance to check over your changes before pushing You can resolve merge conflicts through accepting changes which don’t clash and then simply selecting your changes or the servers. The nice pretty colour highlighting is a winner here . What’s your favourite IDE? ✌️ . . #ionic #devdactic #angular #webdevelopment #code #coder #developer #webdeveloper #ionicacademy #programming #webdev #codetosuccess #coding #softwaredeveloper #devlife #codinglife #programmers #programmer #buildtheweb #programmerrepublic #buildupdevs #indiehacker #solopreneur #thedevlife #fullstack #entrepreneurlife #passiveincome #appdeveloper #mobiledeveloper #worldcode

Philippeion of Olympia, detail (Peloponnese, Greece). This circular building placed in the sacred enclosure of the sanctuary of Olympia was built by the king Philip II of Macedonia, father of Alexander the Great, in commemoration of his Olympic and military victories. In fact, Philip won the olive tree crown three times in horse racing, while in 338 BC he defeated the coalition of the poleis in Chaeronea, taking control of Greece. The Ionic temple housed the statues of the royal family in gold and ivory, work of the sculptor Leochares. She, dressed in white, looked like a goddess· he, stood slowly admiring her. Disaster came with the first touch. The Heart Asks Pleasure First - Michael Nyman ►The Academy Of Athens was erected in Ionic Order based on plans by famous Danish architect, Theophil Hansen. Construction began in 1859 and was completed in 1887, by Ernst Ziller, (Hansen's assistant), at the expense of wealthy Greek benefactor, Símon Sínas who, originally from Northern Epirus, established himself financially in Austro-Hungary. Nowadays the building is considered to be one of the most beautiful neoclassical edifices in the world, with Hansen admittedly drawing inspiration from the ancient masterpieces of the Propŷlaea and the Erechtheíon which adorn the Acropolis. On the exterior, the building has rich sculptural marble decoration carved by Leonídas Dróssis, of which most impressive is the central pediment depicting the birth of goddess Athéna, along with the two imposing statues on tall Ionic columns of Athéna Prómachos (left) wielding her Spear and Shield, and Apollo the Lyre-player (right). The two seated statues of the philosophers, Sócrates (right) and Pláto (left) are sculpted by the Italian Piccirilli brothers, better know for carving the colossal figure of Abraham Lincoln in Washington. On the interior, (yes! you can enter) the beautifully painted decoration of the main Assembly Hall consists of eight huge panels executed in oil on canvas by Christian Griepenkerl, depicting the myth of Prométheus’ gift of fire and light to mankind - the prevailing notion of enlightenment through knowledge. Today the building stands to symbolise the continuation of the Ancient Greek spirit of superior learning, as Plato founded the first philosophical school in 387 BC near the sanctuary of Acádemos, which became colloquially known as the Academy of Pláto. It was closed down in 529 AD, when teaching of philosophy was banned by imperial decree. Subsequently the relighting of the flame of knowledge, mainly from the Renaissance and onward, triggered the foundation of Academies worldwide. • • text & photo by Lefterry Bellos © • #athensacedemy #academyofathens #ionic #architecture

The beautiful west front of Sledmere, with its elaborate box parterre to the fore. This is the best elevation of the house. Much grander than the entrance front, with its engaged ionic pediment over raised and fielded Ionic pilasters with elaborate foliate ruffs that would inspire envy in even the most well dressed Elizabethan. #classicalarchitecture #statelyhome #yorkshire #countryhouse #historichouse #georgiancountryhouse #georgianarchitecture #18thcenturyhouse #historichouses #josephrose #soane #sirjohnsoane #edwardianarchitecture #orangery #neoclassical #neoclassicalarchitecture #neolclassicalcountryhouse #archilovers #francisjohnson #edwardiancountryhouse #capabilitybrown #englishlandscapegarden #18thcenturyarchitecture #englishcountryhouse #bathstone #mansfieldstone #sledmerehouse #parterre #ionic #ionicportico

After the fire the house was gradually restored. Over the next decade from 1911 through the Great War, almost all the 18th century rooms were restored using drawings and the original plaster moulds. The library was the greatest of these. Originally conceived by Sir Christopher and designed by Joseph Rose; the room is a long gallery come book room, much like Robert Adam’s at Syon. However, where Syon was a playful, but not entirely convincing, rearticulation of an Elizabethan space, here we see a full blooded Neoclassical master class. Unconstrained by existing proportions and located on the piano nobile, Rose was able to create an incredible series of enriched barrel and cross vaults that hark back to Imperial Rome. The marquetry floor is an Edwardian contribution and picks up the design of the ceiling geometry, replacing an 18th century carpet that was lost in the fire. Would love to see it without that purple carpet. #classicalarchitecture #statelyhome #yorkshire #countryhouse #historichouse #georgiancountryhouse #georgianarchitecture #18thcenturyhouse #historichouses #josephrose #soane #sirjohnsoane #edwardianarchitecture #orangery #neoclassical #neoclassicalarchitecture #neolclassicalcountryhouse #archilovers #francisjohnson #edwardiancountryhouse #capabilitybrown #englishlandscapegarden #18thcenturyarchitecture #englishcountryhouse #bathstone #mansfieldstone #sledmerehouse #parterre #ionic #archilovers #interiors
