Read below بالعربي ⬇️⬇️ Happy Friday everyone! This dish is called Kahi and Gemar a traditional breakfast dish to Iraq. The Gemar is close to what we call in the UK Clotted Cream or Mascarpone in Italy; but the preparation is different and it is made from Buffalo milk! The Kahi is crusted puff pastry; flooded with sugar syrup! Health and nutrition wise; it is by far an unhealthy meal; high in fats and high in sugars. But does that mean we must deprive ourselves from such foods? Miss on family gatherings and traditional celebrations because we get so uptight about diet and healthy life style? We need to go back to basics and consider our relationship with food generally, live a healthy life style and enjoy a worthy “cheat meal” once in a while! You might remember his recreation of an ancient Assyrian sculpture destroyed by Da’esh using endless date syrup cans.
