My favorite natural indigo stole by @kosoen Naturally dyed indigo doesn’t bleed; the dye is made from a mixture of lye, bran, limestone powder, sake, Sukumo (fermented indigo leaves) and is dark brown in color. The dye reacts with oxygen and turns indigo. Hence, the first few washes you will see light brown water. This stole is dyed using a technique called itajime-shibori, often confused with tie-dye.
