The church contains, according to traditions dating back to at least the fourth century, the two holiest sites in Christianity: the site where Jesus of Nazareth was crucified, at a place known as Calvary or Golgotha, and Jesus's empty tomb, where he is said to have been buried and resurrected. The tomb is enclosed by a 19th-century shrine called the Aedicula.[d] The Status Quo, a 260-year-old understanding between religious communities, applies to the site. Within the church proper are the last four (or, by some definitions, five) stations of the Via Dolorosa, representing the final episodes of the Passion of Jesus. The church has been a major Christian pilgrimage destination since its creation in the fourth century, as the traditional site of the resurrection of Christ, thus its original Greek name, Church of the Anastasis ('Resurrection'). Today, the wider complex around the Church of the Holy Sepulchre also serves as the headquarters of the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, while control of the church itself is shared among several Christian denominations and secular entities in complicated arrangements essentially unchanged for over 160 years, and some for much longer. Ostatni dzień #wyzwaniekfs5 to zdjęcie (a w moim przypadku zdjęcia), z którego jesteś najbardziej dumna. Przejrzałam więc archiwum w telefonie i okazało się, że zdjęcia, które najmocniej zapadły mi w pamięć i sprawiają, że mam ochotę je pokazywać pochodzą z podróży. W tym przypadku z podróży do Izraela i Palestyny. To był jeden z bardziej pouczających wyjazdów w moim życiu. Zobaczyłam miejsca, które dla wielu są bardzo ważne, a o których słuchałam w szkole i czytałam w podręcznikach. Poznałam kiła niesamowitych osób. Spotkałam się z kulturą, z którą chyba jeszcze nigdzie nie miałam styczności. To był niesamowity czas, który obfitował też w niesamowite zdjęcia. Do tego zestawienia wybrałam jednak przewrotnie nie zdjęcia krajobrazów, a takie szczegóły, który przykuły moją uwagę. Jest kanapa, która tak po prostu leżała sobie w uliczce w Jerozolimie. Jest kot, który zamieszkał przy grobie Lazarza, są nagrobki na Gorze Oliwnej, jest zdjęcie o idealnej kompozycji, które zrobiłam przez przypadek zza szyby autokaru. Jest w końcu mnich (?) przemykający po Jerozolimskich zakamarkach. Niesamowite miejsca, niesamowite wspomnienia.
