(Piper): My rescue story is our Tbt: Have you heard of Moran Market in Korea? It is infamous for the dog meat market and the butchers. Someone dumped me at the market to get killed. It was most likely because of the way my legs are. They were broken at some point in my life and they were never set. So they look dislocated. Luckily, a citizen reported seeing me and LCKD was able to rescue me before the butchers got to me. I must have been rescued minutes or seconds from death. They did not have a foster or anywhere to place me at that time. They had to keep me in a shelter but kept maintaining me. They asked the people at the shelter to not put me down. Shelters have a rule of keeping dogs for 10 days for the owner to show up and 10 more days for an adopter. if no one shows up they are euthanized. Sadly no one came for me. They kept trying to look for a foster for me but they couldn't find one for a few months. They had to plead with the shelter not to kill me and promised to find me a good home. They finally found a foster @ian__hay where I stayed a few months. I loved it there. They were so nice. I had a furend Ian and had lots of love. Then one day my foster pawrents said I was flying to Ohio. Someone had adopted me. My new pawrents drove over 800 miles and 19 hrs to pick me up in Chicago. When I got to Ohio I realized I had a big family. I have a Mommy and a Daddy. I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers. My two brothers are a-holes they hiss at me. That's ok. I'm bigger than they are So far life in Ohio is amazing. They keep talking about this white stuff called snow. I'm excited to see it. We all know how adopters get hailed as heroes. Please never forget the people in the beginning and the middle who helped get me to where I am today. Mommy says they are the heroes! They say I'm a very special girl who has gone through so much. I've met many heroes in my journey. Sasha is our sweetheart love-bug Shiba (Jindo?) mix. She is about 2 yrs old & 33lbs and was exposed to some of the dog meat trades most cruel methods. She’s had at least one litter of pups. You cannot help but be drawn to her soulful eyes & sweet demeanor. Sasha would make a great couch potato, but is also a great explorer. Simba is 2 yrs old puppy in an adult body and 34lbs. He’s a swilly doodie pie who is fully of energy, and a “fake Shiba” who loves snuggles. Both Simba & Sasha are ok with laid-back friendly dogs. Simba would make a great only dog for an active household with no cats or kids.

⭐️ • Hi friends! It’s #takeovertuesday - Halley’s human here . Just wanted to take a moment to share more of Halley’s story. • Halley is a 2 year old Jindo mix - we’re pretty sure she’s got some shiba and something else in her. Her tail seems too fluffy and not curly enough to be jindo/shiba. Any thoughts Anyway, just about 2 months ago, Halley was living in an abandoned construction lot in the Gangnam province of S. Korea with her pups and baby daddy. Their conditions were not very promising as you can see in the photos - it was below freezing, and they were left with sad human food, a pot of water that had frozen over, and a dog house. Halley’s pups were about 5 months old and it appeared she nursed them for quite some time. • @bandforanimalkorea spotted the fam in these sad conditions and was able to rescue them. When Halley was examined by a vet, they learned that due to lack of nutrition and food, she had been snacking on rocks and plastic which thankfully passed. Our rescuers sent Halley and the pups to @koreank9rescue where they knew they would have a better chance at life. • One thing led to another and on January 26th we decided to call her ours! Halley’s rescuers named her 별 or “Star” and her babies “Sun” and “Moon.” Here she is sitting pretty on her star pillow as an homage to her rescuers and her past life. • Thanks for following us on this journey!
