That little framed screencap over my shoulder is from a David E Kelley series called SNOOPS. ⁣ ⁣ 20yrs ago today, Rob Thomas (the writer not the singer) hired me for SNOOPS, and my career as a professional screenwriter began. ⁣ ⁣ A few weeks later, JJ Abrams hired me for my first staffing job on FELICITY. ⁣ ⁣ A couple of yrs later, Barbara Hall and Hart Hanson taught me HOW to be a professional screenwriter on JUDGING AMY. ⁣ ⁣ The last 20yrs have had incredible highs, and devastating lows. Every job ends, and you never know if you’ll work again. But I always have. ⁣ I am extremely blessed to put “Screenwriter” on my tax returns the last 20yrs.⁣ ⁣ The job is maddening at times. When the muse doesn’t show, the constant rejection, the insipid notes and demands from people who know nothing about writing, the pressure of finding the next gig. It has driven many to the brink of suicide. ⁣ ⁣ I wouldn’t trade one second of it. ⁣ ⁣ Thank you to the writers mentioned above, and those I’ve worked with along the way - even the assholes. ⁣ ⁣ I will never forget where I came from, the insane odds I overcame, the help I received, and what it feels like to be on the outside looking in. ⁣ ⁣ To you looking in - never give up. O livro começa com Arlo e sua família voltando para cidade de infância de sua mãe para morar com um tio um pouco “estranho”, numa casa que receberam de herança. Logo Arlo e sua irmã descobrem que vão ter que se adaptar e se privarem de muita coisa para morarem nesse “fim de mundo”. Na escola, Arlo logo descobre que tem algo diferente no lugar e quando se junta aos Patrulheiros começa e descobrir todos os segredos que a cidade esconde e alguns perigos também. O autor tem uma escrita fluida e com muita magia e confusão faz com que você não desgrude do livro até o final. Talvez por esse ser o primeiro livro da trilogia e por ter que explicar esse novo universo para nós, ele se torna um pouco parado, mas a história me deixou super animado e já estou querendo muito ler a continuação.

It is very clear, or rather very blue, that Guy Ritcher's power is not in Excalibur, but in the magic of the lamp. This retelling of Aladin, with the propeller constructed from the Genius, parodying, was Genial. It gave a differential, a contemporary touch and added values to the original work with a lot of smoothness, without breaking the essence and magic of this classic legend. Will Smith was the great highlight of the new story, "The Fresh Prince of Bel-air", but retained its millennial wisdom and did not overthrow its master Aladin (Mena Massoud), who made a fine pair with Jasmine pricess (Naomi Scott) . Even the female empowerment was tailored to the status of the princess. And jafar (Marwan Kenzari ) was magnificent too. Very beautiful. I again wished to find a magic lamp, as in my adolescence.
