Well, it's Monday again and the weekend is over. This time I decided to jump a little into the future and break from Utah and take you to Joshua Tree National Park in California. After a couple of weeks of being on the road I had to drive to Los Angeles to pick up my pup. Seeing as I didn't get a chance to leave Arizona until late in the afternoon I knew that my options were limited for capturing the Milky Way in CA. Because of this, I went to the one guaranteed place to have dark skies, and that is of course Joshua Tree. So, after a few hours on the road I took that exit I know so well and drove into the darkness to see what I could find. I didn't have a particular shot in mind, I just knew that I wanted to get a shot of the cholla , and at least one Joshua tree. So after getting to the Cholla Gardens I set up and was able to photograph this panorama. I totally winged this shot and don’t “love” the composition. But for a last minute trip and not having a plan in mind I am very happy with it. Escaped to one of my favorite places for what Is probably the last desert trip until after summer. I tend to do this when the noise in my head gets a bit too loud. I’ve been trying to find the time to spend an evening in the dirt with my brother and it finally happened. With our hectic schedules pulling us apart, we found a few hours to decompress in my favorite place. Ari came too and they loved it.

Joshua tree is truly a magical place both energetically and visually. It actually sits on the second strongest energy vortexes on earth. Visually it looks like an alien planet from outer space with it’s uniuq joshua trees and rock formations. when I mentioned this to my friend Nima who is in this picture he jokingly reminded me that technically we are in outer space and we both laughed. you can see Ursula Major (دبّ اكبر) right above his head. We went there with three of my friends to camp out for the night and we had the most incredible time under the moonlight climbing The rocks, talking, laughing and in my case lots and lots of photography.
