I’ve been looking into my ancestry lately. I can trace my mom’s line back 9 generations, to Antonio Supnet, Nicolasa Natividad, and their three sons Thomas, Marcos, and Augustin, who were born in the mid-1700s. Through dna, I found cousins I don’t even know all over the world! While doing this research up to my gggggg grandparents, I also found a lot of faceless names, ghosts if you will, and I wondered what it must have been like for them to jump on a ship and leave their homeland for an unknown distant land. I realized we are more than our fathers name, or mothers maiden name, because for each parent there are 2 parents, and for each grandparent there are 2 parents, and it becomes exponentially mind boggling. I also realized we are all living ghosts, and one day we’ll be a faceless name; only to be remembered if one day someone looks us up, and wonders what we may have been like. What I can say after all of this is “You are Amazing!” and it doesn’t matter what strangers think of you, what really matters is how you live your life, and how you’ll be remembered by the ones that love you today...
