I've been busy sending out the first batch of M.U.S.C.L.E. Toybox prints the last couple of days..Yes that Extra large print does take up most of the dining table.. It's HUGE!! Occasionally it's hard to wave off my prints to their new homes, especially on a first run like this, but it's equally nice to know that people think enough of the work that they want them hung on their walls Still a few (very few) of these left, link in bio.. So been off Instagram for a while.. I've been busy, as this post and the next few should show. I finally got around to completing the 5th picture in the #ToyBox series.. and this time it was M.U.S.C.L.E!! M.U.S.C.L.E stood for "Millions of Unusual Small Creatures Lurking Everywhere" and were released in the mid 80s by Mattel in the western world, they originally came from a Japanese manga called #kinnikumen #Kinnikuman and these small collectables are known as #keshi in the East (erasers originally) I'm sure the toyline is a little niche for some tastes, but I loved these figures, and as I'm looking to illustrate every (yes every!) major toyline, there's going to be a few obscure ones in the mix too. This was undoubtedly my toughest of all the ToyBox illustrations, the sheer number was terrifying! Swipe to see the details on these, to appreciate the dedication and effort in bringing this to life. Like the toyline, this comes 2 ways: For the purists, there's the original flesh colour, a print I've called "Symphony in Pink" and then there's a second print made up of the colour figures called "Technicolour Dreams" Prints can be bought of either and there's also an option to buy a very limited number of Extra large versions of the prints (once gone, they ain't coming back!)
