I love chameleons, they’re such fascinating creatures with their 360 eye view of the world and their colour changing skin used as camouflage, aggression and courtship. Did you know that half of their species come from the Madagascan Rainforest? I would love to go there someday so the other day, I was inspired by @thedadlab ‘s paper plate chameleon that I just had to try it with the kids. . We’ve been doing some process art and one of the techniques we used was the paint scrape inspired by @ohcreativeday and @raising.kinley We used paper plates and normal paper as base. I thought it was fun and even little miss had a go though but short lived , little man kept on going until he was happy with his artwork and we let it dry. On another piece of paper plate, I drew and cut out a silhouette of a chameleon and made a hole in the center and did the same on his artwork. Then I attached the 2 plates together using a single fastener. Here’s a very simply activity by @raisingmyknight that you can make in minutes and goes perfectly with the Very hungry Caterpillar book! Material required: Green coloured A4 paper Pencil Scissor Black marker A long wooden skewer/toothpick A medium plastic straw A small plastic straw Glue Tissue paper Step 1: Sketch a leaf on your A4 green coloured paper Step 2 Cut your leaf Step 3 Using a small straw mark the veins on your leaf Step 4 Cut half a tissue paper Step 5 Roll the tissue paper around the medium straw Step 6 Glue the end of your tissue Step 7 Scrunch your tissue together Step 8 Using a black marker draw the caterpillar characteristics Step 9 Remove the scrunched tissue off the straw Step 10 Cut 2cm straw Step 11 Glue straw to one end of your leaf Step 12 Insert wooden toothpick through the straw Step 13 Now glue your caterpillar one end on the straw and one end on the toothpick
