Now we are a beach family.... we love the sand, surf and just relaxing with the boys. We are at the beach almost every week, sometimes daily over summer! . . We must say today was a first! Blues skies White sand Clear water Someone just forgot the warm weather!!! . . We have never been to the beach before and worn beanies, gloves, thermals, jeans, boots and blanket! Ironically. This time last year we holidayed in Tasmania for 2 weeks. . We started the adventure off in Hobart and when we arrived at the hotel the concierge told us he had heard a rumour that Mt Wellington had received some snow overnight..... . . Neither of our boys had seen snow before so we couldn’t pass up on the opportunity. . . We quickly rushed upstairs, threw the suitcases open and decked ourselves out in our warmest gear. We then hit the road. It was already 3:30pm and daylight was fast disappearing. . . We reached as far up Mt Wellington as we could. Snow may be the wrong word to use.... there was definitely lots of ice on the ground. Nevertheless all 3 of my kids were excited the boys threw snowballs (if you can call ice, dirt, twigs and pebbles a snow ball) at each other until darkness set in! . .
