Travelling with kids is hard, and those who say its all about being prepared, please, you can prepare down to the last minute and then your son doesn’t want to go to Barcelona but Madrid instead and your whole WEEK is ruined and you’ll be hearing about the time you forced him to go to Barcelona instead of Madrid for years to come! ✌ Yesterday was one of the hard trips, night flight with not a very good night sleep the night before and a short flight just around bedtime from Malaga to Barcelona first! ‍♀️ Yousefs mood varied from super hyper to moody teenager. When we got on the flight everyone was annoying him and being so loud and noisy when it was his bedtime. He huffed and puffed the first hour about that he needed to sleep! Adam decided tonight was the night to pull an all nighter‍♀️✌ I was ready to collapse, bedtime is normally an hour before the take-off time, so my eyes had a life of their own and just wanted to shut off! Great when you have a little one not ready to sleep! It wasnt before 3am, 2 hrs before arrival he cried himself to sleep, which took 45min of stares and shitty looks and ‘god make your baby shut up!’! Then when we landed he was still tired and cried for another hour at the airport! It was a lot and i just remember the feeling yesterday right before boarding after hours of full on stress, we went to the bathroom and i just sat down on the toilet to take a rest and was too tired to get up again... Yousef asked me if I was okey and I just said I was a little tired, and he said ‘it will be okey mommy, but we need to go because maybe someone else needs the toilet and you are taking a long time.’ Thanks Yousef! But it just felt so good to sit in a locked room and not have to worry about the kids running off and take a few breaths alone... So as much as it is fun looking back at pictures of travelling, its not always easy, its emotionally and physically draining having so much responsibility for two kids alone, and then add luggage, waiting, stress, hunger and horrible peoples attitudes to kids... But each time does get easier, and one day they will be old enough to sit alone in economy while I enjoy business! ✌
