Liquid water color + rubbing alcohol ⁣ ⁣ These little water color paintings were kicked up a notch using rubbing alcohol, and oh my are they gorgeous! For this #invitationtocreate simply use a good quality watercolor paper, apply a generous layer of liquid watercolor, then drop or spray rubbing alcohol on top! (Tip: paint must be quite wet to get the best reaction from the alcohol). The reaction between paint and alcohol is instant and oh so fun! ⁣ ⁣ After seeing @friendsartlab do this project, I knew we had to give it a try too!⁣ ⁣ This simple process produces beautiful results every.single.time! We talked a lot about color mixing and how to blend colors using various brush strokes. ⁣ ⁣ After experimenting with using a dropper for a few minutes, we decided to get out a kid friendly spray bottle. The spray of alcohol really gave a magical effect. Reminds me of sprinkled sand! ⁣ ⁣ Liquid water colors are just the best. Probably one of my all time favorite art supplies! This year it was my mission to get my kids to play with more open ended toys... Cause if I am being honest they have so many toys that they play with once or twice and then forget about them.. . . So the reign of that kind of behaviour needed to end so I started with a box... And asked them to imagine what the box could be... Guys it took my kids a while to buy into playing with a box idea ‍♀️ but slowly but surely we winning the battle of imagination..!!
