There was a study done on trying to figure out the factors that determine happiness. And you know what came up as number one influencer to happiness...... community and having supportive relationships. ⁣ ⁣ As a person who’s leaned more towards being a lone wolf for the most part I’ve struggled to feel understood or heard or valued. I had a hard wired belief that I was just the odd man out. And this belief has led me to years of being resistant to being in communities. Until I decided this belief wasn’t particularly useful. I wanted and longed for connection but I always looked for the reasons I was different.... this resulted in a large disconnect and some self sabotage and suffering. ⁣ ⁣ What I’ve come to learn is: ⁣ 1. I can be different and unique and still be in community⁣ 2. We are all intertwined and connected; and if we’re looking we can find the ways in which we’re all similar ⁣ 3. Feeling support and surrounded by community is absolutely profoundly worth changing my belief⁣ 4. We all want connection and community. ⁣ 5. People who are different can be brought together by 1 single strand of commonality⁣ 6. There’s so much to be learnt and valued from those who walk a different path. ⁣ ⁣ Thank you to all of those who have opened their hearts to being seen and seeing others and who have made the effort to be in community.
