AWAS! USER MANUAL OF EMERGENCY _ Laying the groundwork for the exhibit are these points below: 01. Mitigation’s 02.Preparedness 03. Response 04. Recovery _ In line with the points stated above, the show will exhibit tools and case-studies from three NGO’s currently active in their efforts to respond to the scenarios mentioned above. Those parties being Scouts Malaysia, Epic Homes and MERCY Malaysia, respectively. Hence what this show aspires to bring forth to the public is the transmission of knowledge in preparing or responding to states of emergency that the built environment may experience in the near future. Highlighting how the three NGO’s utilize the dissemination of knowledge through the teaching of basic survival skills through to knowledge of post-disaster re-building of a community. _ This transmission of knowledge is apparent through the various tools exhibited, the workshops and discussion/forum session that is held during the show ’ AWAS! I always wanted to do a project that touches on humanitarian architecture. Thankfully, this year I had a great opportunity to co-curate ‘AWAS: USER MANUAL OF EMERGENCY’ with this dream team: @zannureen and @notoscale and we manage to get it exhibited for @klaf.2019 Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival. _ The exhibition highlights the ways in which we can pre-empt and respond to natural disasters and calamities based on case-studies from three NGO’s ; MERCY Malaysia, EPIC Home and Scouts Malaysia _ Content from MERCY Malaysia, EPIC Home and Scouts Malaysia.
