Once welded he zipped it back up with a tig welder. I formed two curves from it with a hydraulic pipe bender. I carved and formed the branching joint, then ground and textured all the surfaces. To form the #fruit I cast #gafferglass in an open brick mould, then a second firing slumped it to form curves on both faces. It took months but I ground and polished all the glass surfaces to form a crisp edge. ( You can hardly see it until you look, but I invite you to feel it!) Each fruit is drilled through and hung with a stainless steel #wirerope encased in silicone tubing to protect the flexible joint from frost, and hidden from view with stainless steel #sepals Each fruit is hung from its own curved stalk, which is hollow and invisibly allows a full swivel joint. It all moves in the wind. You can see the rain on the glass this week and sunshine transforms it too. Both the glass and stainless steel are very #tactile @hannahpescharsculpt until the autumn.
