I love the boldness and life that effortlessly and immediately exists in the raw beginnings of a work in progress //⁣ ⁣ I am so excited about this body of work I’m in the midst of. I’ll be creating the majority of it during my Artist-In-Residency that is coming oh, so soon. ⁣ ⁣ Still can hardly believe I’ll be on a plane heading to France in just 9 days! My artist heart is bursting, friends!! //

#marchmeetthemaker ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When asked what I'm most proud of about my art career so far, I simply have to say, "Myself!" It's not easy to put something as personal as your artwork out there for the world to judge, and it's not easy find the motivation to keep pushing through creative blocks, or a sales slump, or negative feedback. And it's also not easy to be brave and say yes! when intimidating opportunities arise! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am easily enchanted by new hobbies and interests, but after a few months (if that!) I usually lose interest. Deciding to invest huge amounts of time, money, and even a chunk of my house into my art was actually a huge risk given my past behavior. But I'm sticking to it. And I love it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pictured above is a recent proud moment. My painting "Lion" was selected to be featured, along with nine other artists, in the 2019 Art in the Sky project sponsored by @artscouncilgl and @adamsoutdoorlansing ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Getting to see him up close and personal.... and so much larger than life.... is so surreal!
