How can I learn English faster?! Each and every one of us has asked this question.
.
Learning new words on their own can be rather difficult since many words have numerous meanings.
.
The word “set” has 464 meanings! Mind-boggling!
.
Simply knowing a word doesn’t mean that you will be able to actually use it! Therefore if you want to learn English faster, never learn words on their own! Learn them in sentences, phrases, idioms, or collocations.
.
You will never hear “retrospect” used alone, without the word “in” before it. Thus, I will learn it as “In retrospect” and memorize it in a sentence - “In retrospect, I shouldn’t have told that reprehensible joke.”
.
▪Superb - very good; excellent.
.
▪Mind-boggling - extremely surprising and difficult to understand or imagine (informal).
.
▪Collocation - the combination of words formed when two or more words are often used together in a way that sounds correct: The phrase "a hard frost" is a collocation.
.
▪Retrospect - an act of thinking about the past.
.
▪Reprehensible - If someone's behaviour is reprehensible, it is extremely bad or unacceptable (formal).
.
Which English word have you learnt today? Use it in a sentence in the comments section!

Thank you for sticking around, wish you a fantastic evening (it’s evening here in Denmark).
