This gorgeous, peaceful facade is found in Paris 5th on Rue de l’Estrapade. As @carinaokula and I were strolling this quiet street a couple of years ago, a group of French folks paused to talk a bit and asked if we knew what Estrapade was in French. They enlightened us by describing the use of a tall wooden device to torture people in the Middle Ages. (I’ll leave it at that, you can look it up!) They ambled away and left us standing in the street speechless. Just thought I’d pass this info along to you guys.
