I guess you can call this a growing collection • Is it just me or is there something so simple yet beautiful about glass bottles? I tend to bring my used ones home to be repurposed as room decor or photo props. I really love how despite the maker’s best efforts, no two glass bottles are exactly identical. Even if they’re made in the same mould, each bottle is unique to itself; just as no two people are the same. #BeyondNormLifestyle

I flippantly used to say that black and white images were superior to color because you had to work harder to see them. • Then I started to dive deeper into the work of one of my favorite directors, David Fincher. • While trends point toward high saturation and bright lighting, Fincher has been steadfast in his use of limited and natural lighting, as well as cold, steely palettes. • His confidence to buck trends to honor his vision allowed me to develop a style of color photography I can stand by, and one which I believe still challenges the eye. • Which do you prefer?

I think twilight is my favorite moment of the day. It appears just as golden hour disappears, but before nighttime arrives. # It’s a quiet moment of reflection as I walk about our urban homestead. It’s the moment where my BB takes his shower, and I slip outside for a private peek at our glowing cottage. # Often, I can’t believe we live here. For years I walked these grounds, wondering what would it be like to someday simply go inside and finally “be home.” Back then, we would instead drive away from a rubble of a construction site, after a long day of rebuilding our 1895 broken cottage, back to our little bungalow. # We still have lots to do yet, but I am grateful to now call this place home. We named our homestead, “The Creator’s Cottage,” in honor of our Creator Who allowed us to be its current caretakers. # Just thinking out loud. # I hope your twilight brings you peace and joy.
