Most of you hardly know where is Belarus. When people ask me where I’m from, I already prepare myself for long explanations.. so in this post I’ll open the doors to this mysterious country ⠀ If you don’t know, I’m from Belarus , the country that is situated between Poland and Russia ⠀ The capital of Belarus is Minsk, it’s my hometown ⠀ Belarus is a small country, we have around 10 million people there. Minsk has 2 million ‍♀️‍♂️ ⠀ We are bilingual, we speak Russian primary and Belarusian secondary. It doesn’t make us a part of Russia like many people think. As you would never say that Belgium or Luxembourg is a part of France just because they all speak the French language ⠀ Belarusian mentality is nice. We are kind, shy and trustworthy. A lesson I’ve learned from moving here: How to be with myself. I’m incredibly social, the definition of an extrovert. I am also, for those enneagram enthusiasts out there, an enneagram 2w3. I love people and I thrive from giving and receiving love. But when I’m my healthiest, I’m comfortable with my own company (moving in my direction of integration to type 4). We’re still finding community and Tyler is on night shift a lot which means I’m often alone for multiple days in a row. I’m learning to let go of the loneliness—finding increased creativity, trust and joy in all of this quiet. Now I’m okay to be alone, even happy to be, because I don’t have to be lonely.

Someone who is respectful and mindful of other people’s feelings and is sensitive to the needs of others 〰️

A timeless question for many people who are going on traveling to Asia.. what to choose, Thailand or Bali? ‍♀️ ⠀ I’m not a Thai or Indo expert, the countries are big and I haven’t been everywhere. But I’ll compare my experience in two islands: Koh Samui, Thailand and Bali, Indonesia ⠀ Distance and flights ✈️ I think here there is no big difference, it’ll take you similar time and money to get to both destinations. People usually fly to islands trough Singapore ⠀ Nature Koh Samui is much better, the whole island has a beautiful turquoise color of water and pure white sand. Bali also has nice beaches but not all of them are clean and ocean water looks dirty on some of them ⠀ Vibe Koh Samui and Bali are equal here, they both have nice places to go out, great island relaxing atmosphere ⠀ Style Here is very hard to compare with Canggu and Seminyak in Bali. Stylish cafes, fancy restaurants and beach clubs, beautiful people, tattoo culture, great shops with clothes and jewellery... Koh Samui doesn’t have even 10% of it. In Thailand prepare yourself for a quite casual lifestyle ⠀ Digital nomads ‍ There is a small amount of DN in Koh Samui and there is no DN community. Here is also very hard to top Bali, Bali is almost a motherland of DNs. But the quality of Wifi connection is much better in Koh Samui (of course, almost nobody works online) ⠀ Prices Thailand and Indonesia have generally similar prices. People say that Thailand is cheaper.. I don’t agree, probably in Bali we have more temptations to spend money ⠀ Surfing You can surf in Bali, there are a lot of schools where you can learn surfing. In Koh Samui you can’t ❌ ⠀ Spirituality Bali is a very spiritual place, I’d compare it with some parts of India.. meditations, healing practices, yoga, om chanting.. just a small part of what you can learn in Bali. I didn’t notice it in Koh Samui ‍♀️ ⠀ So what I’d say.. if you are a nature lover and it is the main part of your traveling.. then I’d recommend Koh Samui ⠀ If you can’t imagine yourself without cool people around or you are a digital nomad.. then definitely Bali ⠀ And what would you choose? Bali or Koh Samui?
