I just shared our oldest daughters wardrobe on Instagram stories if you’re interested. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ It has been seven long years of too much clothes for all of our girls. Between my love of thrifting and the massive amounts of hand-me-downs that we received for the first few years of Finley’s life it all became too much. And digging out from all of those clothes has taken a lot longer than I thought. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But we’ve gotten there and it feels great. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Less clothes means less mountains of laundry to wash, dry and fold. It means easier mornings getting dressed (she’s not pulling out 28 different shirts before she finds the one she loves and wears every time it’s clean, and the shorts that itch funny on her waist aren’t taking up space in her dresser). And it means more time, and more money. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I’m still working on the little girls wardrobes and as each season changes I purge more and more and it becomes less and less. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ I don’t follow a number system, I just stay mindful of what’s being worn and what’s not. And if a whole season goes by and I don’t see them wear something, it goes. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ It’s all a process isn’t it? It doesn’t happen overnight. So long as you’re mindful, you’ll get there, and so will I.

We’re a family of 5 living in a 3 bedroom bungalow. (If you don’t count the guest room we built in the basement for company. Or as the girls lovingly refer to it, “Nanny & Papa’s room!”) ⁣ ⁣ And as the girls get older we’re struggling with how to configure the bedrooms once Reese no longer uses her crib. ⁣ ⁣ Bunk beds? Finley’s always had her own room, do we change that and have her bunk with Lennon? Reese insists on singing “tomorrow” as loudly as she can to fall asleep... which disrupts Lennon falling asleep. But surely that’s just a phase? ⁣ ⁣ How many children do you have versus bedrooms? How did you choose to arrange everyone? I just want to maximize sleeping hours okay? Help a Mama out!
