Awesome Chinese style multipoint lock mechanism on an upscale restaurant in dc. Owners key broke off in the interior lock when trying to unlock the store for business in the morning. ‍♂️ The manager tried to disassemble the lock housing.. needsless to say they called me shortly after to rectify the issue. Almost always when a key breaks in a lock there is an underlying problem causing too much pressure or resistance when the key turns. Disassembled the entire mortise mechanism, linkage rods, and multipoint lock bolt packs. Found a problem in the bottom bolt pack where it was binding when operating the lock from inside. Disassembled, re-preened the aluminum casing back together and re-installed in door. Smooth operation when turning key now from inside and out. Guess I haven't posted in a while.. here's some interesting jobs I've done recently First vid was a call for a chevy Silverado. Air Force guy was visiting his girl over the holiday went out drinking and lost his key. Ignition had been swapped so factory key only worked the doors. This was my first time encountering this.. don't have a lishi.. tried to pick while holding pressure on sidebar but couldn't get the feel for it. Sidebar is hardened, drilling it wasn't a possibility.. u can see in the vid I drilled above it into the housing which allowed me to lift sidebar with no interference. 2nd pic is my first combination safe upgrade/ swap to electronic keypad for a good friend. 3rd and 4th are my first time installing a digital code lock. Autistic child was opening the existing lock and wandering in dc.. not ideal. Now requires combo to enter and different combo to leave. 5. Opening a safe by drilling a hole stick in a camera in and aligning the gates. 6. Nissan GT-R dimple key 7. Baldwin lock with 7 pins.. I've never seen a 7 pin key for that manufacturer. 8. Warded master lock opened with a piece of wire I made 9. Honda with aftermarket alarm bypassed security and programmed key 10. Custom install of an old school rim lock on French door with weird dimensions. So ya, that's what I've been up to.
