#TBT Summer of 2017, I packed up my girls and we drove to Louisiana. An 11 hour drive from South Florida. We bonded, listened to lots of music, laughed, and took naps (not me). It wasn’t too bad. But that drive back was hell. Anyway, one of our stops was the Evergreen Plantation. Such an amazing experience. I could feel the eerie vibes as we walked around. I couldn’t help but reflect on how much pain my people endured on that same property. It was like I felt the spirits. A bit of a sad feeling came over me. I am glad I was able to share this experience with my kids, even though it was probably the hottest day of that year.
