Somewhere along the line we are told that we shouldn’t miss those who aren’t here, that we should move on, dust ourselves off, and smile through the pain. The truth is we are allowed to miss them forever. We are supposed to hurt, we are created to weep, and we have every right to scream ‘this hurts’. (Zoe Clark-Coates) @zoeadelle
Earlier this month, my brother-in-law lost his mother unexpectedly. My sister contacted me shortly after and asked if I could create botanical candles with his mothers funeral spray to gift to the family. To be quite honest, I was a little nervous. I usually am nervous when I create something custom for someone... I just want it to be perfect. I'm really happy with how these came out and cannot wait for them to be in the hands of those who are mourning the loss of this woman. I never met her but always heard amazing things. Sending them love and healing energy as I wrap these beauties up in ice packs for a safe travel to Tennessee

Good morning! Thank you guys so much for showing so much love on my last post of these memorial candles that I did for my sister. If anyone is interested in me possibly doing a tutorial video on how to make these, just drop a comment below and I may be able to get one done in the next couple weeks if I have enough interest I personally could not find a good tutorial on how to make these in a jar, I just went for it. Fair warning though... these are tedious to make and involve handpainting each flower onto the inside of the jar in the desired placement, carefully heating the jars to avoid frosting after botanicals are in place (which can be tricky), tapping air bubbles out of the larger flowers after the wax is poured and obviously pressing the flowers 1 to 2 weeks prior to making. There are plenty of videos on how to do them outside of a jar but I feel they wouldn't last very long that way. The glass really preserves the quality of the botanicals and you can put a lid on them to help preserve any scents you choose to use as well.

I’ve been thinking a lot about love, heartbreak, and the search for wholeness. These last 6 months have been some of the best of my life. But in the last 3 years, my heart was broken twice (by the same person) into what I thought were irreparable pieces. Though it was a slow journey to healing, I realize now that it brought me closer to myself and my own power. My heart broke because I loved someone more than I could have ever imagined I was capable of loving, but when that relationship ended, I still had all of that love inside of me. That love was mine, that capacity to feel and connect and be on FIRE with life was in me all the time. And when that person left, it was just the catalyst that left. I realized that I had all this energy inside of me to turn towards whatever I wanted and make it grow. That energy is the force of the universe itself, and it’s pure power. You can give it to a plant, to your creativity, to yourself, and whatever you direct it towards will blossom. I thought I lost everything, but actually I gained everything— because I realized that the power to love is within me and it’s mine. For me, I turned it towards my murals and my mediation and I am literally watching those things blossom under my eyes. That fire, that love, is part of the infinite fabric of the universe that is us. ❤️.
