Creating good proprioception in my hands, feet and hips means I can self adjust, bringing strength and support in my spine and hips. The more I can push into my hands and feet with good alignment, the more I can extend my spine. Kind of like constant traction I guess build the strength in exercises and you’ll be able to carry that into your day to day activities.
The key consistency in whatever movements you do. Get to know your movement pattern, video or photo yourself to understand it, learn where needs strength, listen to your body, it will tell you overtime how to adjust. #scoliosis #scoliosisawareness #scoliosisstrong

I almost chose a post-op video that highlighted the pain of my procedure, but instead I decided to celebrate my spine by sharing a part of my instagram story from the day right before my surgery. This was the last video of me goofing off and dancing with no restrictions ever again, and also, this was the first time IN MY LIFE that I had ever shown my back to social media because I knew I’d miss my unique imperfections. I had hidden it for far too long and I wanted to make sure to always remember how far I came. Side note: yes, I did wear that dress and heels to the hospital that day when I went in for the last of my tests to make sure my levels were stable enough for the surgery the following morning. I’m back and dancing a little bit, so now the real challenge is to be cleared to try it in heels.
