Making the most of our last day in Mississippi! My parents came down from Memphis & we all went out for fried chicken & champagne. {it's a Southern thing!} Tomorrow we are finally heading back to Texas. After hearing stories from friends and seeing all of the Harvey footage, I couldn't be more thankful to have a house to come home to. It's time like these you realize how fortunate we are to have the little things we take for granted each & every day. http://liketk.it/2sAF7 #liketkit @liketoknow.it #mississippistyle #whatwewore #motherhoodthroughinstagram
On becoming a bionic blonde. To look at me you would never guess that I’ve had both of my hips replaced, a complete full bowel obstruction, gave birth to four children, and weighed 226 pounds at my heaviest before any of those things happened.
.
I read today that it’s not what happens to you rather how you think to what happens to you. My body has been through a lot in my 45 years. I also did my fair share of harm to it with binge eating and exercise. .
While growing my four children has been my greatest contribution to this planet, it was still physically very significant to me, and thus makes a list of things my body has endured and triumphed over.
.
It wasn’t the surgery so much about becoming a bionic blonde, it was the pain that I endured before I decided to have my hips replaced. I feel that the warrior in me came out during the pain management not the decision to have the surgeries. I know I’m the lucky one that got to have the pain carved out leaving, these beautiful pieces of Titanium in the pains absence. I’m the lucky one. Those titanium pieces are what gave me the nickname - bionic, those years of pain are what made me strong.
.
I’m strong now on fueling my body, I am strong now on designing a life, I’m strong now on raising children that talk kindly to themselves, I’m strong on raising great adults, I’m strong on paying it forward. I’m strong on showing others if there’s another way. I’m strong on encouraging change. .
I can’t imagine on the day I died living in debt, living a life where my bank account makes my decisions, or suffocating in a shell of skin that smothered my confidence and made me want to hide. .
I know there’s others out there like me that want to be set free. I’m very strong on wanting to help you. I do what I do because there’s a better way. There’s a lifestyle out there waiting. I’ll show you.
