I finally did it guys! I had the pleasure of shooting with @elektrawave aka Kelly, and boy was it a great experience. When we both got into the zone the photos were just flowing and the hard part was selecting which photos to edit. I had over 200 keepers, talk about a good problem to have. . . . Model: @elektrawave . . . Shot explanation: So Kelly is a fluent poser, she’s really good at striking multiple poses in a short amount of time. What the challenge became was shooting at the right angle for the poses she was striking. I decided to go for a more powerful look, ravishing yet strong. To achieve that I shot from a lower angle to give the sense of her being confident and strong. For the editing process; her outfit and the wall were pretty similiar in color, there was only so much I could change in Lightroom. So in photoshop, I masked out her outfit then added some saturation and also changed the color by 2 or 3 points. Editing my images in black and white is definitely something I try to stay away from because I enjoy playing around with my photos with color. But some photos just seem like they have more emotion if they were in black and white, and this one was definitely one of the few ⁣ ⁣ What do you guys think, black and white or color? Let me know

If you really think about it, anyone can pick up a fancy camera and take a picture. ⁣⁣ But in reality, there’s so much more to it, and that’s what keeps our jobs as photographers interesting and exciting. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Many photographers go location hunting for their bride and groom and help make timelines for wedding days to make sure there’s a generous amount of time for their portrait sessions. But sometimes as photographers your greatest quality eventually becomes being able to be a flexible person, in all aspects really. ⁣ By that I mean, sometimes you will not have ideal locations to have a portrait session for a bride and groom. Or maybe you do have a beautiful location but not enough time, therefore having to bang out several shots in a very short period of time. ⁣ ⁣ But this all comes with being a photographer and not just knowing how to point, adjust and shoot. ⁣ ⁣ You can see here that clearly Hasan and Fatimah were on the run to make their first entrance into their reception. To them, it was a moment of go go go! But to me, I saw it as a unique opportunity to capture their excitement, and so I did. ⁣ Yes, there’s a parking lot behind them and what seems to be a dented exterior pipe. But the emotion in Fatimah’s smile is clear, and I’m living for that my friends ♥️

Is this heat feeling unbearable to anyone else, or is it just me?⁣ ⁣ The day Eman decided to have this precious maternity shoot was almost as hot as it has been the past few days and y’all, I was so nervous to have her spend almost an hour outdoors in that heat while pregnant ⁣ ⁣ But believe it or not, the minute we pulled up to this garden it felt like the temperature dropped at least 5 degrees! Some would say it was the prayers I was making on my way there others would say it was just the area and all the shade from the trees within the garden ⁣ Either way, I was so grateful for it, and the cool weather definitely made this entire shoot go by so smoothly ♥️
