Hot girl summer? Who is she
I’m just study girl summer (quoting one of my loves @theveganpremed)
Loving these blue light glasses by @pixeleyewear. I am studying at least 8 hours a day and I’ve gone digital, with everything. So imagine how strained and dry your eyes must be! I can study longer and more efficient with these! If you have to pick something important to invest in, it’s your eyes (Style: Cerco)
Fun fact: I’ve studied 50 hours this week not including the time I’ve spent going to class/ labs we’ve had
✨Happy Tuesday! (It’s Tuesday right?!) ✨ As promised, I wanted to give a review on these scrubs by @mediclo.official for all my medical field peeps. •

✨Guys, I LOVE THEM! ✨
1. The material is so soft and stretchy
2. The waist has a think elastic band and they STAY UP (game changer). I was able hold my work phone, cell phone, pens, papers, etc. and they were snug/secure all night.
3. If ordering I would order a size up. I’m usually a small (in FIGS for reference), and I ordered a medium- the fit was perfect.
4. They a nice color selection and a few different styles to choose from! • If you have any other questions feel free to ask! I’m happy to help Oh! And one more thing! You guys are GREAT! Keep working towards your goals and enjoy the process/struggle! The #medicalfield can be rough, but it is so rewarding. YOU CAN DO THIS! ⚕️
Academics are just one part of what makes a great physician. And when it comes to the kind of academics you need on the #premed and #medschool path, a lot of it is rooted in study habits and self-discipline that can be learned. So there's no need to be intimidated when you struggle with o-chem or get a bad #MCAT score. If being a physician is what you really want, you CAN do this. You just need to learn the right habits and stick with it for the long haul. And smash that idea of a "perfect" premed or med student. It doesn't exist! No one is perfect, and med schools aren't expecting that. I had two C's on my application. I was rejected in my first year applying, but I stuck with it, and I got in. Since then, I've advised premeds with multiple F's on their transcripts who have done it. Trust me when I say that a couple of bad grades aren't the end. Trust me when I say that it's okay to struggle on this path. If your advisor is discouraging you, find a new one. Listen to my interviews with admissions committee members and successful med students on The Premed Years for a realistic view of how to do this. And just lock onto your goal. No plan B. Keep your focus on what you know you're meant to do, and you will make it happen. Patience and hard work!

Osteopathic medicine is one of the fastest growing healthcare professions. Our philosophy revolves around treating the patient holistically and considering their environment, body system, and nutrition when it comes to diagnosing and treating. We get extra training in manipulation of the body via muscle and joints, something that can help heal besides just medicine. The biggest example I can give you is that in theory, if a patient comes in with pain that could not be identified, an MD would suggest taking pain relievers while a DO might be able to manipulate the musculoskeletal tissue to relieve the pain/talk in depth with you to find a prevention for this. I feel that this philosophy resonates with me greatly. It will help me in my future career as a doctor to see a different perspective and offer care in a more personable way.
I tagged all of my favorite DOs to share a little bit about how their training helped them! I hope to hear it in the comments below! ⚕️⚕️
Your potential as a #futuredoctor isn't predicated on having perfect grades from day one. It's okay to struggle. It's okay if it takes a while to find your footing.
The premed path is a process that forces you to grow and become better. It's not about nailing everything perfectly from the very start. It's more about your persistence through the challenges.
It's more about how bad you want it than about how easily it comes to you at first.
You don't have to be THAT smart to become a doctor. It's about hard work, priorities, and the right study habits more than anything. These are things you can learn and practice.
So don't let anyone discourage you just because of a bad grade or some other struggles you're having early on. You have time. You're still "doctor material" underneath. Keep pushing one day at a time. You'll get there.
