Sinead A., aka @mistthemermaid, hails from New York and is a very active member of the Long Island Mermaid Pod!⠀ ⠀ Q: When did your love of mermaids begin?⠀ A: I've loved mermaids ever since I was a little girl. I grew up on "Peter Pan" and "The Little Mermaid" and constantly used my imagination to tell stories and create my own underwater worlds. I pretended to be a mermaid all the time: little did I know that it was possible to become a mermaid when I grew up!⠀ ⠀ Q: How did you get into mermaiding?⠀ A: I first learned about the hobby in 2010, when I saw a video online on how to sew your own fabric tail. I didn't own a sewing machine, but I practiced all the swim strokes to get ready for when I could get my own. Then I discovered Fin Fun and purchased my first tail from them in 2016. Now, I'm a professional mermaid!⠀ ⠀ Q: What is your favorite Fin Fun tail design?⠀ A: That's so hard to say! I think my favorite Fin Fun tail I own is my Aussie Green: it's my first tail ever! I do have a huge soft spot for the Sapphire Sea and the Bronzed Emerald designs, too.⠀ ⠀ Q: Why do you enjoy being an Ambassador for Fin Fun?⠀ A: Fin Fun began my mermaid journey, and there's nothing I enjoy more than getting to represent the company who made my dreams come true. I've met so many little guppies who want to flip their fins as merfolk, and getting to see their smiles when I tell them that their wish can be a reality is so rewarding. Mermaiding brings people together, and I've found my place in the mermaid community through Fin Fun!
