Last night I had the honour of attending the Melbourne International Film Festival on behalf of @lexusaustralia and watch the incredible documentary film that is @ausdreamfilm. This story is raw, real and heartbreaking. Personally, at the time it happened I remember experiencing deep shock, followed by hurt and I remember actively pushing away that pain because it all just felt too hard and complex to be at peace with. I am a woman of colour and I have experienced racism, directly, casually and by way of daily microaggressions. To see a man of colour, and an Indigenous man (the first and original people of our land) go from being revered at the highest scale in his sporting prowess to the other extreme in literally being cast aside as trash for reacting to something awful that happened to him (not something he asked for), speaking his truth and standing up for all of us killed a part of of my soul. I relived the pain when I watched @thefinalquarterfilm because the truth is, this story is about all of us, and country we call home. Whilst @adamroy37 owes us nothing, I was longing to hear HIS voice in all of us and I am so grateful for the @ausdreamfilm for gifting us with that, in the most powerful, thought provoking, balanced and hopeful (my heart needed that) storytelling I’ve seen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Stan Grant, Daniel Gordon, @adamroy37, @madmanent and everyone involved - including this legend @bensimmons - who has gone above and beyond to recognise this story as one that needs to be told and heard globally and just as importantly, right here, at home. Thank you, incredible human. I will never forget the raw energy, love and emotion in the room last night for the worldwide premiere - apparently we stood in ovation for 7 mins - we didn’t want it to end. Дресскод сегодняшнего мероприятия был "Black tie" и я решила надеть красное платье. Я давно не носила этот цвет, но весенее настроение определило мой выбор и красный цвет сейчас в моде. Это платье от @maisonvalentino и шарф я купила 20 лет назад в Риме, тогда у нас ещё не было бутика в Москве, чтобы надеть на мероприятие в честь 40-летия бренда, где все должны были быть в красном.
